Description

A luxurious filet mignon dish topped with rich and flavorful garlic herb butter, perfect for special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 2 filet mignon steaks (6-8 ounces each)
  • 3-4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh thyme, chopped
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Kosher salt
  • Freshly cracked black pepper

Instructions

  1. Prepare the garlic herb butter by mixing the softened butter with minced garlic, parsley, and thyme until well combined.
  2. Roll the mixture into a log shape using parchment paper and refrigerate for at least one hour.
  3. When ready to cook, bring the filet mignon to room temperature. Season generously with salt and pepper.
  4. Heat olive oil in a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Sear the filets for 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare.
  6. During the last minute of cooking, add dollops of the garlic herb butter on top of the steaks.
  7. Remove the steaks from heat and let them rest under foil for five minutes.

Notes

For a different flavor profile, you can add lemon zest to the garlic herb butter or use different fresh herbs.
