Description
A luxurious filet mignon dish topped with rich and flavorful garlic herb butter, perfect for special occasions.
Ingredients
- 2 filet mignon steaks (6-8 ounces each)
- 3-4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh thyme, chopped
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Kosher salt
- Freshly cracked black pepper
Instructions
- Prepare the garlic herb butter by mixing the softened butter with minced garlic, parsley, and thyme until well combined.
- Roll the mixture into a log shape using parchment paper and refrigerate for at least one hour.
- When ready to cook, bring the filet mignon to room temperature. Season generously with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.
- Sear the filets for 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare.
- During the last minute of cooking, add dollops of the garlic herb butter on top of the steaks.
- Remove the steaks from heat and let them rest under foil for five minutes.
Notes
For a different flavor profile, you can add lemon zest to the garlic herb butter or use different fresh herbs.
