A delicious twist on burgers, these easy smash burger tacos combine juicy ground beef with crispy tortillas and flavorful toppings for a fun handheld meal.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef (80/20 fat percentage)
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 10 cracks fresh black pepper
- 6 (six-inch) flour tortillas
- 6 slices muenster or provolone cheese
- Shredded lettuce
- Chopped white onion
- Dill pickle chips for topping
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon mustard
- 2 tablespoons minced bread & butter pickles
- 1 tablespoon pickle brine
- 1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- Whisk together all burger sauce ingredients in a bowl and refrigerate until ready to use.
- Mix salt and pepper in a separate bowl. Evenly distribute over the top and bottom of the ground beef.
- Divide the beef into 2.5-ounce balls and place them on a plate in the fridge.
- Preheat the flat top on high heat, ensuring it gets extremely hot.
- Place each beef ball on the flat top. Press a tortilla on top, using a smashing tool to flatten the meat.
- Allow the meat to cook for 1 minute before pressing down again.
- Cook for 2 to 3 more minutes until crispy and browned.
- Flip the taco to cook the tortilla side for about 2 minutes.
- Top with cheese and let it melt as the tortilla crisps.
- Remove from heat, add your burger sauce and toppings, and enjoy!
