Description

An easy and flavorful layered taco bake that combines ground beef, salsa con queso, and cheese for a comforting dish perfect for any taco night.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • ¾ cup water
  • ½ cup salsa con queso
  • 3 soft 8-inch flour tortillas
  • 2 cups shredded Mexican cheese blend (divided use)

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the ground beef.
  2. Cook until browned and no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Drain off excess grease.
  4. Add taco seasoning and water to the skillet with the beef.
  5. Stir until well combined and let simmer as per seasoning packet instructions.
  6. Mix in salsa con queso until melted.
  7. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and spray an 8-inch baking pan with nonstick spray.
  8. Layer one tortilla in the baking pan, followed by ⅓ of the taco filling and cheese. Repeat, finishing with a tortilla and remaining cheese.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For a lighter option, substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken. Experiment with different cheese blends for variety.
