An easy and flavorful layered taco bake that combines ground beef, salsa con queso, and cheese for a comforting dish perfect for any taco night.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- ¾ cup water
- ½ cup salsa con queso
- 3 soft 8-inch flour tortillas
- 2 cups shredded Mexican cheese blend (divided use)
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the ground beef.
- Cook until browned and no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
- Drain off excess grease.
- Add taco seasoning and water to the skillet with the beef.
- Stir until well combined and let simmer as per seasoning packet instructions.
- Mix in salsa con queso until melted.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and spray an 8-inch baking pan with nonstick spray.
- Layer one tortilla in the baking pan, followed by ⅓ of the taco filling and cheese. Repeat, finishing with a tortilla and remaining cheese.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For a lighter option, substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken. Experiment with different cheese blends for variety.
