Ingredients

  • 1 pound (454 g) ground beef
  • 3 tablespoons (45 ml) grated cheese
  • 1-2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 3 tablespoons (45 ml) bread crumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) dried parsley (or 1/2 tablespoon chopped fresh)
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) salt
  • 1-2 dashes black pepper
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) milk
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) vegetable oil
  • 5/6 – 1/2 cup (200-120 ml) broth (vegetable or beef)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, egg, bread crumbs, grated cheese, minced garlic, and parsley. Season with salt and pepper. Gradually incorporate the milk until the mixture is soft and cohesive. Shape the mixture into small spheres.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet, then add the meatballs. Sear them on all sides, turning frequently. Cook for about 5 to 6 minutes. Pour in the broth, cover the pan, and let it simmer on medium-low heat for around 10 to 12 minutes until fully cooked. Stir from time to time to prevent sticking.
  3. Uncover and cook on high for an additional 2 to 3 minutes to slightly thicken the sauce. Serve right away. Enjoy your meal!

Notes

  • Enhance the flavor by using a blend of beef and in the meatball mixture.
  • Add a touch of heat by incorporating red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper into the meatballs.
  • Switch up the taste by trying different cheeses like parmesan or mozzarella in the meatball recipe.
