Description

Learn how to make a delicious and hearty Easy Crockpot Chili with this simple recipe. Perfect for busy weeknights, this chili is a crowd-pleaser!

Ingredients

  • 454 g of ground beef
  • Salt, pepper, garlic powder
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 60 ml (1/4 cup) chopped jalapeños or green chili
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp) minced garlic
  • 30 ml (2 tbsp) chili powder
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp) paprika
  • 5 ml (1/2 tsp) each of salt and pepper
  • 5 ml (1 tsp) onion powder
  • 5 ml (1/2 tsp) cumin
  • 2 cans of 439 g chili beans You can use regular or hot chili beans
  • 1 can of 411 g diced tomatoes
  • 1 can of 170 g tomato paste
  • 1 can of water I like filling up one of the empty chili bean cans

Instructions

  1. Cook the minced beef and onion in a pan on medium-high heat.
  2. Sprinkle a pinch of salt, pepper, and garlic powder over the mixture. I usually eyeball these amounts.
  3. Remove any excess fat from the beef.
  4. Combine the cooked beef, minced garlic, jalapeños, chili beans, diced tomatoes, and tomato paste in the crockpot.
  5. Mix in 2 tablespoons of chili powder, 1 tablespoon of paprika, 1/2 teaspoon each of salt and pepper, 1 teaspoon of onion powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of cumin.
  6. Use one of the empty chili bean cans to measure water and add it to the crockpot.
  7. Blend everything together thoroughly and set it to cook on low for 6-8 hours.
  8. Relish your meal! We often pair it with peanut butter sandwiches.

Notes

  • Consider using hot chili beans for extra spiciness.
  • Adjust seasoning with more salt, pepper, or chili powder to taste.
  • Enhance flavor by sautéing jalapeños and garlic before adding to the crockpot.
