A simple and versatile dish featuring fragrant jasmine rice cooked in creamy coconut milk, perfect for pairing with a variety of meals.
Ingredients
- 1 cup jasmine rice
- 1 can (13.5 oz) coconut milk
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar (optional)
- Fresh cilantro (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- Rinse the jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
- In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed rice, coconut milk, water, salt, and sugar (if using).
- Bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Once boiling, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed.
- Remove from heat and let it sit covered for 5 minutes.
- Fluff the rice with a fork and garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
Notes
For a creamier texture, consider replacing some of the water with additional coconut milk.
