Description

A comforting dish of bell peppers filled with savory ground beef or turkey, rice, and zesty tomato sauce, perfect for family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 4 bell peppers
  • 1 pound ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Shredded cheese (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cut the tops off the bell peppers and remove the seeds.
  3. In a skillet, cook the ground beef or turkey over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  4. Add the cooked rice, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Stir until well combined.
  5. Stuff each pepper with the meat and rice mixture. Place the stuffed peppers upright in a baking dish.
  6. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  7. If desired, remove foil, top with shredded cheese, and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until cheese is melted.
  8. Serve warm.

Notes

Experiment with different cheeses and add vegetables to the filling for extra nutrition.
