Ingredients
- 1 cup active sourdough starter
- 1 cup warm water
- 3 cups bread flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the active sourdough starter and warm water. Mix well.
- In another bowl, whisk together bread flour, cocoa powder, sugar, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it rise at room temperature for 4-6 hours, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Shape the dough into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan.
- Let it rise for another hour.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, until the bread sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
- Allow cooling before slicing.
