Description

A savory dipping sauce that complements fresh spring rolls, made with hoisin, soy sauce, and sesame oil.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • ¼ tsp minced fresh ginger
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • ½ tsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tsp green onions, chopped
  • ½ tsp white sugar
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp water

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, water, minced garlic, chopped green onions, sesame oil, sugar, and ginger until thoroughly mixed.
  2. Adjust the thickness by adding more hoisin sauce if necessary.
  3. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours to allow the flavors to meld.
  4. When ready to serve, transfer the mixture to a small saucepan and gently heat over medium-low for 2 to 4 minutes until warmed.

Notes

Consider adding chili flakes or lime juice for variations. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
