Description

A delightful recipe for authentic ground lamb gyros with homemade tzatziki, fresh toppings, and warm pita bread.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground lamb
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Pita bread
  • Tzatziki sauce
  • Lettuce
  • Tomatoes
  • Onion for topping


Instructions

  1. In a skillet, cook the ground lamb over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the onion is translucent.
  3. Stir in the oregano, cumin, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  4. Warm the pita bread in a separate pan or oven.
