Description

A delightful and straightforward recipe for cooking deer chops, combining rich flavors with simplicity.

Ingredients

  • 2 deer chops
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • Fresh herbs (like thyme or rosemary) for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season the deer chops with salt and pepper.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the deer chops and sear on both sides until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  4. Remove the chops and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and garlic; sauté until softened.
  6. Add the mushrooms and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  7. Pour in the beef broth and bring to a simmer.
  8. Return the deer chops to the skillet, cover, and cook for about 10-15 minutes, or until the chops are cooked to your liking.
  9. Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs.

Notes

Allow the cooked chops to rest for a few minutes before serving to ensure moisture retention.
