Ingredients
- 36 slices of beef pepperoni (100 g)
- 12 large egg roll wrappers
- 12 pieces of mozzarella string cheese, room temperature
- vegetable oil or other high temperature oil
- tomato pizza sauce
Instructions
- Arrange three beef pepperoni slices in a diagonal line on an egg roll wrapper. Place a mozzarella string cheese piece on top of the pepperoni. Fold the corners over the cheese, then fold the bottom corner over the cheese and pepperoni, rolling tightly to seal the cheese inside. Use water to moisten and seal the edges. Repeat this process with the remaining wrappers, cheese, and pepperoni.
- In a heavy skillet or similar pot, heat vegetable oil to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Fry the rolled sticks in batches, cooking each side for 45 to 60 seconds until they are completely browned. Place them on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
- Offer with warm tomato pizza sauce for dipping.
