Ingredients

  • 2 cups vanilla ice cream (480 ml)
  • 1 cup whole milk (240 ml)
  • 1/2 cup cooked beef bacon, chopped (85 g)
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (50 g)
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder (15 g)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (12 g)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (3 g)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin (1 g)
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour (30 g)
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (30 g)

Instructions

  1. Place the chopped cooked beef bacon in a bowl and mix with chili powder, sugar, salt, and ground cumin.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  3. Dredge the bacon pieces in all-purpose flour, shaking off excess.
  4. Dip the floured bacon into the beaten egg, ensuring each piece is coated.
  5. Roll the egg-coated bacon in breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
  6. Carefully place the breaded bacon into the hot oil.
  7. Fry the bacon until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
  8. Remove bacon with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  9. In a blender, combine vanilla ice cream and whole milk.
  10. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  11. Add shredded cheddar cheese to the blender and pulse until just combined.
  12. Pour the milkshake into glasses.
  13. Top each milkshake with fried bacon pieces.
  14. Serve immediately and enjoy.

Notes

  • For a more intense flavor, consider using sharp cheddar cheese instead of regular cheddar.
  • Ensure to remove excess oil from the fried bacon by draining on paper towels before adding to the milkshake.
  • Experiment with different seasonings like smoked paprika or garlic powder for the fried bacon.
