A comforting casserole made with steak, potatoes, and melted cheese, perfect for family gatherings.
Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs of steak (sirloin or chuck)
- 4 medium potatoes, diced
- 1 cup of shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cups of beef broth
- 1 tablespoon of garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon of Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup of sour cream (optional for serving)
- Chopped green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a crockpot, layer the diced potatoes and chopped onion at the bottom.
- Season the steak with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper, then place it on top of the potatoes and onions.
- Pour the beef broth over all ingredients.
- Cover and cook on low for 6 hours or until the steak is tender and potatoes are cooked through.
- In the last 30 minutes of cooking, sprinkle shredded cheese on top and allow it to melt.
- Serve with sour cream and garnish with chopped green onions if desired.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding root vegetables like carrots and celery. For a kick, sprinkle in crushed red pepper flakes or a few dashes of hot sauce.
