Description

A comforting casserole made with steak, potatoes, and melted cheese, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs of steak (sirloin or chuck)
  • 4 medium potatoes, diced
  • 1 cup of shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups of beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon of garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon of Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup of sour cream (optional for serving)
  • Chopped green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a crockpot, layer the diced potatoes and chopped onion at the bottom.
  2. Season the steak with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper, then place it on top of the potatoes and onions.
  3. Pour the beef broth over all ingredients.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours or until the steak is tender and potatoes are cooked through.
  5. In the last 30 minutes of cooking, sprinkle shredded cheese on top and allow it to melt.
  6. Serve with sour cream and garnish with chopped green onions if desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding root vegetables like carrots and celery. For a kick, sprinkle in crushed red pepper flakes or a few dashes of hot sauce.
