Description

A comforting combination of crispy fried chicken and fluffy waffles drizzled with hot honey.


Ingredients

  • Omaha Steaks Air-Chilled Chicken Breasts
  • All-purpose flour
  • Cornstarch
  • Baking powder
  • Salt and pepper
  • Buttermilk
  • Eggs
  • Waffle mix (or ingredients to make waffles)
  • Honey
  • Hot sauce
  • Butter (for serving)


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, and pepper. In another bowl, combine buttermilk and eggs.
  2. Dip the chicken breasts first in the buttermilk mixture, then coat with the flour mixture.
  3. Heat oil in a deep skillet and fry the chicken breasts until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. Prepare the waffles according to the package instructions or recipe.
  5. For the hot honey, mix honey with a splash of hot sauce.
  6. Serve the fried chicken on top of the waffles, drizzle with hot honey, and add a pat of butter if desired.

Notes

Allow the fried chicken to rest on a wire rack post-frying to retain its crunch. Experiment with spices in the flour mixture for added flavor.
