Ingredients
- 1 large onion
- 1 pound (450 g) ground beef

- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) Worcestershire sauce
- 4 slices beef bacon
- 1 cup (100 g) shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup (100 g) shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup (120 g) all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups (240 ml) buttermilk
- 2 cups (240 g) breadcrumbs
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- Slice the onion into thick rings and separate the layers.
- In a bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well.
- Cook the beef bacon in a skillet until crispy, then chop into small pieces.
- In another bowl, mix the cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, and chopped bacon.
- Take an onion ring and fill the center with a layer of the beef mixture.
- Add a layer of the cheese and bacon mixture on top of the beef.
- Add another layer of beef mixture to cover the cheese, pressing firmly.
- Repeat the filling process with remaining onion rings.
- Place flour in a shallow dish.
- In a separate dish, whisk together the eggs and buttermilk.
- Place breadcrumbs in a third dish.
- Dredge each filled onion ring in flour, shaking off excess.
- Dip the floured onion rings into the egg and buttermilk mixture.
