Ingredients
- 1 loaf of brioche bread
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
- Butter for greasing
- Sugar for caramelizing
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish with butter.
- Cut the brioche bread into thick slices and arrange them in the baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, heavy cream, milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
- Pour the egg mixture over the bread slices, ensuring they are well soaked. Cover and refrigerate for at least an hour, or overnight for best results.
- Bake the soaked bread for 30-35 minutes until the top is golden and slightly puffed.
- Once baked, remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Sprinkle sugar over the top and caramelize using a kitchen torch until golden and crispy.
- Serve warm and enjoy your delicious Crème Brûlée French Toast!
Notes
For best results, slice the brioche a day before to allow it to dry out slightly. Experiment with flavor variations by adding orange zest or chocolate chips.
