Ingredients
- 1 pound (454 g) frozen chopped spinach, thawed
- 2 cups (473 ml) water
- 5 cup (118 ml) chopped onion
- 4 teaspoons (20 ml) chicken bouillon granules
- 25 teaspoon (1 ml) garlic powder
- 25 cup (59 ml) vegetable oil
- 25 cup (30 g) all-purpose flour
- 3 cups (710 ml) beef broth
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large pot on medium-high heat, combine the spinach, water, chicken bouillon, onion, and garlic powder; bring the mixture to a rolling boil. Lower the heat to medium-low and let it gently cook until the onion becomes soft.
- At the same time, heat vegetable oil in a small saucepan; stir in flour until you achieve a smooth consistency and cook for two minutes. Gradually incorporate the beef broth while stirring until smooth; pour this mixture into the pot with the soup. Let it cook until it thickens, approximately 10 minutes. Add salt and pepper to your preference.
