Description

A refreshing twist on classic tuna salad featuring creamy cottage cheese instead of mayonnaise, perfect for easy summer lunches.

Ingredients

  • Three 5 oz. cans of white albacore tuna, drained well
  • 1/3-1/2 cup of cottage cheese
  • 1 stalk of celery, minced
  • 3 tablespoons of red onion, minced
  • 2-3 tablespoons of dill or sweet pickles, minced
  • 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon of lemon juice
  • 1 clove of garlic, finely minced
  • 2 tablespoons of fresh chives, parsley, or dill
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt (or more to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper (or more to taste)
  • Optional hot sauce, to taste

Instructions

  1. Blend the cottage cheese until it reaches a smooth, creamy consistency.
  2. Combine the drained tuna, cottage cheese, minced celery, red onion, pickles, Dijon mustard, and lemon juice in a medium bowl.
  3. Add the finely minced garlic, fresh herbs, salt, and pepper. Adjust seasoning to taste.
  4. Incorporate hot sauce if desired for extra kick.
  5. Mix everything thoroughly until well-blended.

Notes

Adjust cottage cheese amount for desired creaminess. Experiment with herbs for personalized flavor.
