A creamy and rich chocolate mousse made with cottage cheese, offering a healthy twist to a classic dessert.
Ingredients
- 1 cup cottage cheese (4% milkfat, small curd preferred)
- 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder (Dutch-processed for smoother flavor)
- 2–3 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (or sweetener of choice)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds (optional)
- 1 scoop chocolate protein powder (optional)
- 1–2 tablespoons milk (optional)
Instructions
- Begin by adding one cup of cottage cheese into your blender or food processor.
- Next, incorporate the cocoa powder, honey or maple syrup, vanilla extract (if using), and a pinch of salt.
- Blend the ingredients thoroughly until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy.
- If using chia seeds or chocolate protein powder, add them now and blend again until combined.
- For your desired texture, add milk little by little if the mousse is too thick.
- Once smooth, transfer the mousse into a container and chill it in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to set.
