- 5 teaspoon (3 ml) dried thyme leaves
- 1 bay leaf
- 75 pound (340 g) beef, cut into cubes
- 2 cups (380 g) cooked rice
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) lime juice

Instructions
- Start by preparing all necessary items.
- In a large pot, mix together the beef broth, chopped onion, sliced celery, sliced carrots, snipped parsley, cracked black pepper, dried thyme leaves, and bay leaf; bring this mixture to a rolling boil. Lower the heat and let it gently simmer until the onion and celery start becoming tender, roughly 10 to 15 minutes.
- Add in the beef cubes and let the mixture simmer until the beef is cooked through and no longer pink inside, which should take about 5 to 10 minutes. Take out the bay leaf and discard it.
- Mix in the cooked rice and lime juice; stir continuously until the rice is thoroughly warmed and the grains are separated, which should take around 1 minute.
- Finish by adding lime slices on top for decoration.
