Description

A comforting dish of bell peppers filled with a hearty mixture of ground beef or turkey, rice, and tomato sauce, perfect for family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 4 bell peppers
  • 1 pound ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Shredded cheese (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cut the tops off the bell peppers and remove the seeds.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef or turkey until browned.
  4. Add the cooked rice, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper; stir to combine.
  5. Stuff each bell pepper with the meat and rice mixture.
  6. Place the stuffed peppers upright in a baking dish.
  7. If desired, sprinkle shredded cheese on top of the peppers.
  8. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes to brown the cheese.
  10. Serve warm.

Notes

For added flavor, consider incorporating diced onions or zucchini into the meat mixture. Leftover filling can be baked as a side dish.
