Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef or ground turkey
- 1 can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can diced tomatoes
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup beef or vegetable broth
Instructions
- In a large pot, brown the ground beef or turkey over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until the onion is translucent.
- Stir in chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 1-2 minutes.
- Add kidney beans, black beans, diced tomatoes, and broth to the pot. Mix well.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce heat. Let it cook for about 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- For the slow cooker method, transfer the browned meat mixture and all other ingredients to the slow cooker. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
