Delicious and nutritious chocolate protein balls made with oats, cacao powder, and nut butter, perfect for a quick energy boost or post-workout snack.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups oats
- 1/4 cup cacao powder
- 45g (1 & 1/2 scoops) chocolate protein powder
- 1/2 cup pitted dates soaked in boiling water
- 1/3 – 1/2 cup water used to soak the dates
- 2 heaped tbsp nut butter of choice
- Desiccated coconut to roll in
Instructions
- Soak the dates in boiling water for 20 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix the oats, cacao powder, chocolate protein powder, soaked dates, and nut butter until well combined.
- Adjust the consistency with the soaking water if needed.
- Roll the mixture into balls of your desired size.
- Roll the balls in desiccated coconut to coat them.
- Refrigerate for a few hours before serving.
Notes
Try different nut butters and add-ins like chia seeds for extra nutrition. Roll in crushed nuts or cocoa powder for variations.
