Description

A delightful breakfast bake made with buttery croissants and rich chocolate chips, perfect for brunch gatherings or cozy mornings.

Ingredients

  • 6 large croissants (preferably day-old)
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Tear the croissants into bite-sized pieces and spread them evenly in the dish.
  3. Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the croissant pieces.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
  5. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the croissant and chocolate layers, ensuring all pieces are soaked.
  6. Gently press down to help croissants absorb the liquid.
  7. Let the mixture rest for about 10 minutes.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes, until the top is golden brown and the center is set.
  9. Let cool slightly, dust with powdered sugar if desired, and serve warm.

Notes

For best results, use day-old croissants. Consider adding spices like cinnamon or nutmeg for added flavor.
