Description

A nostalgic and delightful chocolate chip loaf cake that’s perfect for breakfast, snacks, or dessert.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups plain flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter (room temperature)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup chocolate chips


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and prepare your loaf pan.
  2. Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.
  3. Cream the softened butter and sugar in a separate large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in half of the dry ingredients, followed by the milk mixed with vanilla extract.
  6. Fold in the remaining flour, ensuring not to overmix.
  7. Add the chocolate chips and distribute them evenly in the batter.
  8. Pour the mixture into your prepared loaf pan and level the top.
  9. Bake for about 45 – 55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few crumbs.
  10. Cool the cake on a wire rack before removing it from the pan.
