Description

Discover the ultimate Cheesy Bacon BBQ Burger recipe! Learn how to craft juicy patties topped with melted cheese and crispy bacon for an irresistible flavor explosion.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds (680 g) ground chuck 80-85% lean
  • 2 tablespoon (30 ml) s brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) chili powder
  • 2 teaspoon (10 ml) s garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) Italian seasoning
  • 2 teaspoon (10 ml) s soy sauce
  • 4-8 slices cheddar cheese
  • Sliced tomatoes
  • French fried onions (or sliced red onions)
  • Cooked beef bacon slices
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) BBQ sauce
  • Lettuce
  • 4 burger buns

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chuck with the spices and soy sauce gently, being cautious not to mix too much.
  2. Shape the mixture into four large patties and place them aside, or form them into balls to press onto a heated griddle, as shown in the video below.
  3. Heat the grill to at least 400º Fahrenheit. When it’s ready, cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 165ºF. If you’re pressing the patties, do so immediately after placing them on the grill.
  4. When the burgers are almost finished, place 1-2 slices of cheddar cheese on each patty. Let them continue cooking until the cheese is melted.
  5. To put together the burgers, start by placing lettuce on the bottom half of the bun, followed by a patty, then add tomato slices, onions, barbecue sauce, crispy onions, and cooked bacon. Finish by placing the top bun over the burger and serve.

Notes

  • Thoroughly blend brown sugar, spices, and seasoning before mixing with the beef.nLet the seasoned beef sit for 10-15 minutes for enhanced umami flavor absorption.nCover the grill to melt cheddar fully, achieving a gooey topping.
