  6. Grease a baking dish with 1 tablespoon of butter.
  7. Place 4 slices of bread, mayonnaise side up, in the baking dish.
  8. Sprinkle half of the cheddar cheese evenly over the bread.
  9. Sprinkle chopped turkey bacon over the cheese.
  10. Add chopped green onions on top of the bacon.
  11. Layer the remaining cheddar cheese over the green onions.

  15. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
  16. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  17. Remove the dish from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.
  18. Slice the bake into portions.
  19. Serve with a dollop of sour cream on each portion.

Notes

  • Consider enhancing the flavor by adding a touch of paprika or cayenne pepper to the mayonnaise mixture.
  • Try experimenting with different cheeses like Gouda or Swiss for a unique twist on this dish.
  • For a tangy kick, blend a tablespoon of hot sauce into the mayonnaise mixture before spreading it on the bread slices.
