Ingredients
- 2 cups (480 ml) shredded beef cheese (8 ounces (227 g), 225 grams)
- 8 slices turkey bacon
- 8 slices of bread
- 4 tablespoons (60 ml) vegetable oil (2 ounces (57 g), 56 grams)
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) mayonnaise (30 milliliters)
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) garlic powder (5 grams)
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) onion powder (5 grams)
- 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) black pepper (2.5 grams)
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) chopped green onions (25 grams)
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) yogurt (60 milliliters)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the turkey bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Set aside to cool.
- In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
- Spread the mayonnaise mixture evenly on one side of each bread slice.
- Chop the cooled turkey bacon into small pieces.
- Grease a baking dish with 1 tablespoon of butter.
- Place 4 slices of bread, mayonnaise side up, in the baking dish.
- Sprinkle half of the cheddar cheese evenly over the bread.
- Sprinkle chopped turkey bacon over the cheese.
- Add chopped green onions on top of the bacon.
- Layer the remaining cheddar cheese over the green onions.
- Place the remaining 4 slices of bread on top, mayonnaise side down.
- Melt the remaining 3 tablespoons of butter and drizzle over the top of the bread.
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
- Remove the dish from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.
- Slice the bake into portions.
- Serve with a dollop of sour cream on each portion.
