Description
Flavorful and crispy Cajun spiced chicken wings that are perfect for game nights and dinner parties.
Ingredients
- 3 pounds split chicken wings
- 2 tablespoons baking powder
- 3 teaspoons kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 2 tablespoons butter (or vegan butter, or ghee for Paleo/Whole30)
- ¼ cup Crystal’s hot sauce
- 1 tablespoon coconut aminos (or soy sauce)
- Freshly chopped parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
- Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels and place in a large bowl.
- Add the baking powder, kosher salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, oregano, cayenne pepper, and thyme to the bowl and toss the wings until well coated.
- Place the wings in a single layer on a wire rack set over the baking sheet, skin side up.
- Bake for 20 minutes, then flip wings over and bake for another 20 minutes.
- Flip them back skin side up and bake for an additional 5 to 10 minutes until crispy and cooked through.
- While wings bake, heat the butter in a saucepan and add Crystal’s hot sauce and coconut aminos. Simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Transfer the cooked wings to a large bowl, pour the sauce over, and toss gently to coat.
- Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
Pat wings dry to ensure maximum crispiness. Experiment with spice levels based on your preference.
