A flavorful Cajun sausage pasta that combines delicious smoked sausage, creamy cheese, and vibrant vegetables.
Ingredients
- 8 ounces penne pasta
- 1 pound smoked sausage, sliced
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup diced bell peppers
- 1 cup diced onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil
Instructions
- Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add the sliced smoked sausage and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
- Incorporate diced bell peppers, onion, and garlic; sauté for another 3-4 minutes until softened.
- Stir in the Cajun seasoning, ensuring every inch of the sausage and vegetables gets coated.
- Add the penne pasta and enough water to cover the pasta. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until the pasta is cooked, about 10-12 minutes.
- Stir in heavy cream and cheddar cheese until melted and completely combined.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot.
