Description

A flavorful Cajun sausage pasta that combines delicious smoked sausage, creamy cheese, and vibrant vegetables.


Ingredients

  • 8 ounces penne pasta
  • 1 pound smoked sausage, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup diced bell peppers
  • 1 cup diced onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil


Instructions

  1. Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced smoked sausage and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
  3. Incorporate diced bell peppers, onion, and garlic; sauté for another 3-4 minutes until softened.
  4. Stir in the Cajun seasoning, ensuring every inch of the sausage and vegetables gets coated.
  5. Add the penne pasta and enough water to cover the pasta. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until the pasta is cooked, about 10-12 minutes.
  6. Stir in heavy cream and cheddar cheese until melted and completely combined.
