Description

A hearty dish combining cabbage, potatoes, and sausage that brings warmth and nostalgia to the dinner table.


Ingredients

  • 1 head of cabbage, chopped
  • 4 medium potatoes, diced
  • 1 pound sausage (kielbasa or smoked sausage), sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional)


Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add olive oil if using.
  2. Add chopped onion and garlic, sauté until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the sliced sausage and cook until browned.
  4. Add the diced potatoes and mix well.
  5. Add the chopped cabbage on top, season with salt and pepper, and cover the skillet.
  6. Cook for about 25-30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the potatoes are tender and the cabbage is wilted.
  7. Adjust seasoning if necessary and serve warm.

Notes

When sautéing the onion and garlic, allow them to develop a golden color for enhanced flavor. For spiciness, add crushed red pepper flakes or hot sauce.
