Ingredients
- 1 cup sourdough starter
- 1/4 cup butter, softened
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup mix-ins (like blueberries or chocolate chips, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the sourdough starter, softened butter, sugar, and egg; mix until smooth.
- In another bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in any mix-ins, if using.
- On a floured surface, shape the dough into a circle about 1 inch thick and cut into wedges.
- Place the scones on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
