Ingredients
- 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons warm milk
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 egg and 2 egg whites
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 4 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 teaspoons yeast
- 1/2 cup melted or softened butter
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 4 tablespoons softened butter, not melted
- For the cream cheese frosting:
- 2 ounces softened cream cheese
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons warm water
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Add the warm milk, vegetable oil, egg, and egg whites to your bread machine pan.
- Sprinkle the sugar, salt, and yeast over the liquid. Then, gently pour the flour over everything.
- Close the lid and set your bread machine to the dough cycle.
- Once the dough cycle is complete, dump the dough onto a lightly floured surface.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangular shape about 1/4 inch thick.
- Spread the softened butter over the dough. Mix the brown sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle this mixture evenly over the buttered surface.
- Roll the dough tightly from the long edge, sealing the seam.
- Cut the rolled dough into equal slices about 1 inch thick.
- Place the rolls in a greased baking pan and cover them. Let them rise for about 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider incorporating nuts or dried fruits into the filling. To store, wrap leftovers in plastic wrap or place in an airtight container. They can also be frozen for up to a month.
