Description
Tender and flavorful deer meat cube steaks simmered in rich gravy, perfect for a comforting family meal.
Ingredients
- 4 deer meat cube steaks
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 3 tablespoons olive oil or butter
- 1 cup beef or venison broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream (optional for creamy gravy)
- 1 small onion, sliced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Coat the deer meat cube steaks with the flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder mixture, ensuring every side is evenly coated.
- Heat olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the steaks for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden-brown. Remove and set aside.
- Add the sliced onions and minced garlic to the skillet, sautéing for about 3-4 minutes until translucent.
- Pour in the beef or venison broth, scraping the browned bits from the skillet. Add heavy cream if desired.
- Return the steaks to the skillet, cover, and simmer on low for 15-20 minutes until tender.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm with your choice of sides.
Notes
Consider marinating the steaks for additional flavor. Use high heat for a perfect sear.
