A cozy holiday dish of jumbo pasta shells filled with creamy ricotta and spinach, topped with marinara sauce and melted cheese.
Ingredients
- 20 jumbo pasta shells
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 cups chopped spinach
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the jumbo pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente; drain and set aside.
- In a bowl, mix the ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, egg, spinach, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Stuff each pasta shell with the cheese mixture and place in a baking dish.
- Pour the marinara sauce over the stuffed shells.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and slightly golden.
- Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
Notes
Avoid overcooking the pasta. Let filled shells chill for 20 minutes before baking for better results.
