Description

A cozy holiday dish of jumbo pasta shells filled with creamy ricotta and spinach, topped with marinara sauce and melted cheese.

Ingredients

  • 20 jumbo pasta shells
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups chopped spinach
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the jumbo pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente; drain and set aside.
  3. In a bowl, mix the ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, egg, spinach, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  4. Stuff each pasta shell with the cheese mixture and place in a baking dish.
  5. Pour the marinara sauce over the stuffed shells.
  6. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and slightly golden.
  8. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

Avoid overcooking the pasta. Let filled shells chill for 20 minutes before baking for better results.
