Description

Delicious rolls that combine the moistness of banana bread with the warm, spicy sweetness of cinnamon rolls, topped with a rich cream cheese glaze.

Ingredients

  • 2-3 pieces ripe bananas (mashed)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 piece egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare a baking dish by greasing it lightly to prevent sticking.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, granulated sugar, brown sugar, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract. Mix well until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon. Whisk together.
  5. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Roll out the dough onto a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick.
  7. Spread a thin layer of cream cheese evenly over the rolled dough.
  8. Sprinkle a mixture of sugar and cinnamon over the cream cheese layer.
  9. Roll the dough tightly from one end to the other to form a log, then slice into equal pieces.
  10. Place the slices into the prepared baking dish and bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  11. While the rolls bake, mix softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and milk to create a glaze.
  12. Once baked, drizzle the glaze over the hot cinnamon rolls and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Use room temperature ingredients for better mixing. Allow the dough to rest for 10-15 minutes after rolling out for easier shaping.
