Ingredients
- 3 medium overripe bananas
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup milk (or almond milk)
- 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Smash the overripe bananas until they reach a smooth consistency.
- Add the melted butter to the bananas, stirring until well combined.
- Mix in granulated sugar and brown sugar, and continue stirring for a few minutes.
- Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth.
- Whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon in another bowl.
- Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the banana mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips if using.
- Pour the batter into your prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
- Melt the additional two tablespoons of butter and drizzle it over the batter before placing it in the oven.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow to cool slightly before slicing into squares and serving.
