Description

Delicious baked maple donut bars that offer a soft and fluffy texture, perfect for breakfast or dessert.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup milk
  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon maple extract
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the dry ingredients: flour, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk the wet ingredients: milk, melted butter, vanilla extract, and maple extract.
  4. Gradually pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow the bars to cool completely before preparing the glaze.
  8. For the glaze, mix the powdered sugar and maple syrup until smooth and drizzle over the cooled bars before serving.

Notes

For added flavor, consider adding nutmeg or cinnamon, or incorporate chopped walnuts or pecans into the batter. Store tightly wrapped at room temperature for up to three days.
