Description

A comforting and indulgent baked cauliflower dish topped with Gruyère cheese and sweet caramelized onions, perfect as a side or appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 1 head of cauliflower, cut into florets
  • 2 cups Gruyère cheese, shredded
  • 2 large onions, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • Olive oil, for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and add the sliced onions. Cook until caramelized, about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. While the onions are cooking, steam or boil the cauliflower florets until tender, about 5-7 minutes. Drain and pat dry.
  4. Spread the cauliflower in a baking dish, season with salt and pepper, and top with the caramelized onions and shredded Gruyère cheese.
  5. Drizzle with olive oil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  6. Serve warm as a side dish or appetizer.

Notes

Feel free to experiment with herbs like thyme or rosemary, or add a pinch of cayenne pepper for heat.
