- 1 pound (454 g) ground beef chuck
- 1 (8 ounce (227 g)) package shredded Cheddar cheese
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 25 cup (60 ml) dry bread crumbs
- 25 cup (60 ml) mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) Worcestershire sauce
- 25 teaspoon (1 ml) salt
- 25 teaspoon (1 ml) ground black pepper
- 1 (3 ounce (85 g)) can French-fried onions
Instructions
- Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) to heat up.
- Cook the bacon in a large pan over medium-high heat, flipping occasionally, until it is evenly crispy, around 10 minutes. Let the bacon drain on paper towels, then once it’s cool, crumble it into a big bowl.
- In another bowl, combine the ketchup and mustard.
- Incorporate one-quarter of the ketchup-mustard mixture into the bowl with the crumbled bacon, then add the ground beef, Cheddar cheese, beaten eggs, bread crumbs, mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix everything well and press it into a loaf pan measuring 5×9 inches. Evenly coat the top of the meatloaf with the rest of the ketchup-mustard blend.
- Place in the preheated oven and bake until the interior of the meatloaf is no longer pink, roughly 45 minutes. Scatter the French-fried onions on top, return to the oven, and continue baking until the onions are golden and a meat thermometer inserted into the center shows at least 160°F (70°C), which should take an additional 10 to 15 minutes.
