Description

A warm, comforting apple crisp made with tender apples topped with a crumbly oat mixture, perfect for any family gathering.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups sliced apples
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • Vanilla ice cream (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Toss the sliced apples with 1/4 cup of granulated sugar and cinnamon in a large bowl.
  3. Spread the seasoned apples evenly in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  4. In another bowl, combine the rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, melted butter, and nutmeg until crumbly.
  5. Sprinkle the oat topping over the apples.
  6. Bake for about 45 minutes or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.
  7. Let it cool for a few minutes and serve warm with vanilla ice cream.

Notes

For added flavor, consider adding lemon juice to the apples or including chopped nuts in the topping.
