Delicious and fluffy apple cinnamon rolls filled with apple pie filling and topped with creamy frosting.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup apple pie filling
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup cream cheese
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, heat milk and butter until warm, then add yeast and let it sit for 5 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt. Add the milk mixture and egg, then mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth, then let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface and spread apple pie filling evenly.
- Sprinkle with cinnamon, roll the dough tightly, and cut into rolls.
- Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake rolls for 20-25 minutes.
- For the frosting, mix cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
- Drizzle the cream cheese frosting over warm rolls before serving.
Notes
Use fresh ingredients for best flavor. If the dough is too sticky, add a bit more flour.
