Description

A light and airy cake that brings a smile to any gathering, perfect for celebrations.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup cake flour
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 12 large egg whites
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/2 cup water


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, sift together the cake flour and half of the sugar, making sure there are no lumps.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites with the cream of tartar and salt until soft peaks form.
  4. Gradually add the remaining sugar while continuing to beat until stiff peaks form.
  5. Gently fold in the flour mixture, vanilla, and almond extract.
  6. Pour the batter into an ungreased tube pan.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the cake is golden and springs back when touched.
  8. Invert the cake to cool completely before removing it from the pan.
