Description

A delightful and nostalgic Amish cinnamon bread that brings warmth and comfort, perfect for breakfast or as a sweet snack.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract until fully integrated.
  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Carefully pour the batter into a greased loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  6. Bake for about 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow the loaf to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For an extra layer of flavor, sprinkle a cinnamon-sugar topping over the batter before baking.
