Ingredients

  • 2 rib eye steaks (bone-in, 12-16 ounce (397 g) s each)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 teaspoon (10 ml) s olive oil
  • 4 tablespoon (60 ml) s butter, softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) minced fresh herbs such as thyme, parsley or chives, plus more for garnish

Instructions

  1. Allow the steaks to acclimate to room temperature for 20 minutes. Warm up the air fryer to 400 degrees F for at least 10 minutes.
  2. Apply olive oil to the steaks with a brush. Add salt and pepper to both sides of the steaks for seasoning.
  3. Arrange the steaks in the air fryer, ensuring they are in a single layer without touching each other.
  4. Cook for 6 minutes on each side to achieve a medium level of doneness.
  5. As the steaks cook, combine the butter, garlic, and herbs in a small bowl, stirring well. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
  6. After removing the steaks from the air fryer, let them rest for at least 5 minutes. Add a spoonful of the butter mixture on top of each steak.
  7. Cut the steak into slices. Optionally, sprinkle with extra fresh herbs for garnish before serving.

Notes

  • Consider enhancing the flavor by using compound butter with added herbs or spices.
  • Ensure steaks are dried with paper towels before applying olive oil for better seasoning adherence.
  • Customize the butter topping by experimenting with herbs like rosemary or oregano.
