Ingredients

  • 454 g chicken tenderloins or breast, sliced/cut into strips
  • 80 ml grated parmesan cheese, freshly grated
  • 80 ml breadcrumbs, any type (Italian Seasoned, panko, etc.)
  • 1 egg
  • 60 g all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) Italian Seasoning
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • cooking oil spray, olive oil flavored


Instructions

  1. Place the flour, egg, and breadcrumbs in separate containers.
  2. Incorporate the parmesan, Italian Seasoning, along with salt and pepper into the breadcrumb container and mix well.
  3. Dredge the chicken strips in flour, follow with a dip in the egg, and then cover with the breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Lightly coat both sides of the chicken pieces with a spray of olive oil-flavored cooking oil.
  5. Arrange the chicken strips in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not stacked. Work in batches if necessary. Cook for 8 minutes at 400 degrees.
  6. Open the fryer, turn the chicken pieces over, and cook for another 6 to 8 minutes, or until they become crispy, adjusting the time according to your air fryer model.
  7. Verify that the chicken has reached a minimum internal temperature of 165 degrees using a meat thermometer.

  • Use whole wheat breadcrumbs for a healthier twist.
  • Enhance the breadcrumb mixture with garlic or onion powder.
  • Bake chicken strips in the oven if you don’t have an air fryer.
