Ingredients
- 454 g chicken tenderloins or breast, sliced/cut into strips
- 80 ml grated parmesan cheese, freshly grated
- 80 ml breadcrumbs, any type (Italian Seasoned, panko, etc.)
- 1 egg
- 60 g all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) Italian Seasoning
- salt and pepper to taste
- cooking oil spray, olive oil flavored
Instructions
- Place the flour, egg, and breadcrumbs in separate containers.
- Incorporate the parmesan, Italian Seasoning, along with salt and pepper into the breadcrumb container and mix well.
- Dredge the chicken strips in flour, follow with a dip in the egg, and then cover with the breadcrumb mixture.
- Lightly coat both sides of the chicken pieces with a spray of olive oil-flavored cooking oil.
- Arrange the chicken strips in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not stacked. Work in batches if necessary. Cook for 8 minutes at 400 degrees.
- Open the fryer, turn the chicken pieces over, and cook for another 6 to 8 minutes, or until they become crispy, adjusting the time according to your air fryer model.
- Verify that the chicken has reached a minimum internal temperature of 165 degrees using a meat thermometer.

- Use whole wheat breadcrumbs for a healthier twist.
- Enhance the breadcrumb mixture with garlic or onion powder.
- Bake chicken strips in the oven if you don’t have an air fryer.
