Ingredients
- 1½ pounds (680 g) chicken wings, drumettes and flats mixed
- 3½ tablespoons (52 ml) vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) garlic, finely minced
- ½ teaspoons (2.5 ml) flat leaf parsley, finely minced
- ¼ cup (60 g) vegan cheese, freshly grated
- Salt
- Freshly Cracked Pepper
- Garlic Powder
- Vegetable Oil Spray (for air fryer basket)
Instructions
- Warm up the air fryer to 360°F for a duration of 5 minutes.
- Dry the chicken wings thoroughly, as excess moisture can prevent the skin from becoming crispy.
- Liberally season both sides of the wings with salt, freshly cracked pepper, and garlic powder.
- When preheating is complete, coat the air fryer basket with a spray of vegetable oil and arrange the seasoned wings in a single layer. Cook using the “chicken” function at 360°F for 25 minutes, turning them over at the midway point of 13 minutes. After the cycle ends, flip the wings once more and cook for an additional 3 minutes at 400°F. Finally, turn the wings again and cook for another 2 minutes at 400°F.
- Meanwhile, on low heat, place a small saucepan and add vegetable oil. Once heated, incorporate the finely minced garlic. Cook gently, ensuring the garlic does not brown, as the aim is to infuse the oil with the garlic essence. Continue cooking for 2 minutes.
- Shred the vegan cheese using a mini food processor and set it aside.
- When the wings are finished cooking, transfer them to a mixing bowl. Pour the warm garlic and oil mixture over the wings and mix well. Add the finely chopped parsley and toss. Finally, sprinkle the freshly grated vegan cheese on top and give it another mix. Enjoy!
Notes
- Thoroughly pat dry chicken wings before seasoning for crispy skin.
- Infuse garlic into vegetable oil on low heat for enhanced flavor.
- Use a mini food processor to shred vegan cheese evenly on wings.
