Ingredients
- 1 tsp chili powder (5 ml)
- 1 tsp ground cumin (5 ml)
- 1 tsp smoked paprika (5 ml)
- 1 tsp garlic powder (5 ml)
- 1 tsp salt (5 ml)
- 1/2 tsp freshly cracked black pepper (2.5 ml)
- 1 lb. ground beef (454 g)
- 3 tbsp water (45 ml)
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil (15 ml)
- 1 green bell pepper (86 g)
- 1 red bell pepper (148 g)
- 1 yellow bell pepper (148 g)
- 1 small yellow or white onion (43 g)
- 2 tbsp freshly chopped cilantro (30 ml)
- 1 lime (25 g)
- 8 flour tortillas, fajita size (1.39 kg)
Instructions
- Combine the fajita spices in a small dish and keep them aside for later (chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, black pepper). Next, cut the bell peppers and onion into thin slices and set them aside.
- Warm up a large pan over medium heat and cook the ground beef until it’s browned. Remove any extra fat.
- When the beef is cooked, incorporate the fajita spice blend and water. Stir well and let it cook for an additional 2-3 minutes. Move the seasoned beef to another plate and reserve it.
- Using the same pan, add the vegetable oil, along with the sliced bell peppers and onion. Cook the vegetables for 3-4 minutes, ensuring they remain slightly firm and not overly soft.
- Reintroduce the seasoned beef to the pan. Mix all ingredients together and heat until the beef is warmed through. Finish by adding freshly chopped cilantro and a squeeze of lime juice. Serve with warmed tortillas and your favorite toppings. Enjoy!
