Description

A traditional Italian spaghetti sauce that brings families together around the dinner table with its rich flavor and simplicity.


Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish


Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  4. Add the crushed tomatoes and tomato paste, stirring to combine.
  5. Season with sugar, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.
  6. Bring the sauce to a simmer and reduce the heat to low.
  7. Let the sauce cook for at least 30 minutes to an hour, stirring occasionally.
  8. Adjust seasoning to taste and serve over cooked spaghetti, garnished with fresh parsley.
